Experience Kirsten and Michael's elegant Battello wedding in Jersey City,
captured through a blend of digital and film photography set in front of NYC's skyline.
The day began just across the street at the Westin, where the couple got ready with expansive views of the New York City skyline stretching out beyond their windows. The early afternoon was calm but full of anticipation in Kirsten's suite — bright, natural light flooding the room as final touches were added, finishing up with beauty and slipping into her dress.
Their first look took place just steps away, against the backdrop of the Hudson River and the city they love. With the sun high and warm, and reflections dancing off the water, this moment felt cinematic. Captured on a mix of digital and 35mm film, where the art of film added a softness and timelessness to their portraits.
As guests began to arrive, the celebration moved inside Battello for the ceremony. The space came to life with the gathering of family and friends, excited to watch K + M become husband and wife. The couple kissed under the chuppah, the sound of cheers filled the room, and in a joyful, sacred tradition, the glass was broken.
Cocktail hour followed — spilling effortlessly between indoor lounges and the patio, guests sipped on signature drinks and sampled delicious bites with the Manhattan skyline sparkling just across the river. This is where 35mm film truly shined — flashy details, harsh shadows of the setting sun, and the beginning of a soft golden hour glow over the cityscape.
Before the party officially kicked off, I took a moment to document the reception space on 120 medium format film. There’s a elevated sense of art to 120 film that’s unmatched—it slows you down, draws your eye to texture, light, and composition, leading to details that feel almost touchable—the folds in linen, candlelight flickering, and the breathtaking floral arrangements by Karma Florals just beginning to catch the evening light.
As night fell, the energy shifted into a celebration to remember. From the first dance to the hora, heartfelt speeches to the sweetest cake cutting, the room felt alive - especially with Elegant Music Group taking the stage. Surrounded by lots love and a stunning view of NYC, it was a dreamy evening in Jersey City.
A NOTE FOR COUPLES
If you’re planning your wedding and wondering whether to add film photography to your package — do it. Film adds a rich layer of colors and depth that complements digital so beautifully. Film doesn’t just document how your day looked — it captures how it felt, timelessly.

CONGRATULATIONS, K + M!
